What we manage

What we manage

Tap a condition to see how we manage it.

COPD & emphysema

Ongoing specialist management

  • Inhaler regimens
  • Flare-up prevention
  • Oxygen therapy

Inhaler regimens, flare-up prevention, oxygen therapy management, and spirometry monitoring - coordinated with your primary care.

The goal is fewer flare-ups and steadier breathing, managed inside your medical home.

Asthma & reactive airway

Triggers, technique, action plans

  • Trigger workup
  • Inhaler technique
  • Flare action plans

Trigger workup, inhaler technique and regimen, and action plans for flares.

Small technique fixes often change control more than a new prescription.

Lung nodules & surveillance

Findings watched properly

  • Scheduled imaging
  • Structured follow-up

Scheduled imaging follow-up, so small findings get watched properly instead of forgotten.

Surveillance lives in your PPC record, so the next scan is tracked, not remembered.

Recurrent pneumonia & bronchitis

Looking for the reason

  • Pattern workup
  • Root-cause focus

Looking for the reason behind repeat infections, not just treating each one.

Repeat infections are a pattern worth investigating, and a pulmonologist in-house can chase it.

Pleural effusion

Including procedures in-house

  • Thoracentesis
  • Pleurx catheter care

Management including thoracentesis and Pleurx catheter care when fluid keeps coming back.

Dr. Seidelman is qualified in the interventional procedures recurrent effusion can require.

Breathing problems rarely stay in one lane. A pulmonologist inside your primary care home keeps the whole picture.

What is COPD management at PPC?

COPD management is ongoing specialist care for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other breathing conditions - medication, monitoring, and flare-up prevention - available at Personal Physician Care's Delray Beach office.

Most primary care practices refer COPD patients out, with weeks-long waits for pulmonology. At PPC, Dr. Richard Seidelman is part of the practice - your primary care provider and your pulmonologist share your chart and coordinate your inhalers, labs, and imaging directly.

Dr. Seidelman has practiced pulmonary medicine in South Florida since 1989. Over his career he has performed advanced interventional procedures, including bronchoscopic laser treatment, airway stent placement, thoracentesis, and Pleurx catheter insertion.

Who is this program not for?

If you are struggling to breathe right now - severe shortness of breath, blue lips, confusion - call 911 first.
If you only need a one-time pre-operative pulmonary clearance, the Pre-Operative Clearance page fits better.
If you are looking for sleep apnea testing as your main need, ask us first - some sleep studies happen at home or a sleep center.

What does a visit look like?

1
Before
Bring your inhalers and medication list. Any recent chest imaging or hospital records help - we request the rest.
2
During
A specialist evaluation - history, exam, and breathing tests or chest imaging at our Delray Beach office when indicated.
3
After
Your regimen is coordinated between pulmonology and primary care in one record, with follow-ups tracked.

Pulmonary care

COPD and lung health, managed in-house

Chronic cough, shortness of breath, COPD, and asthma are evaluated and managed by the same physician team that knows the rest of your chart - with chest X-ray and lab work done right here in the office, so answers come faster.

Physician reviewing a chest X-ray with a patient at Personal Physician Care

  • Asthma and chronic cough evaluation, with triggers and inhaler technique reviewed
  • In-house chest X-ray and lab work when your physician needs a clearer picture

Pulmonary questions, answered

Do I need a referral for a breathing evaluation?

No. New patients can request an appointment directly. Your first visit includes a full history and exam, and any imaging or lab work your physician orders happens in the same office.

Are chest X-rays really done on site?

Yes. Chest X-rays are taken in our office and reviewed by your physician - usually in the same visit - instead of sending you to a separate imaging center and waiting days for results.

Can you take over my existing COPD care?

Yes. Bring your current medication list and any recent records. Your physician will review your regimen, adjust where needed, and track your breathing over time with regular follow-ups.

Do you treat asthma as well as COPD?

Yes. We evaluate and manage asthma, chronic cough, and other common breathing concerns in adults, alongside COPD care.
