Research at PPC

Clinical Research at Personal Physician Care

Our practice participates in clinical research studies. Join the interest list, and when a study fits your health profile, our research team tells you about it - you decide from there, always with your own physician in the loop.

Cardiovascular health

Research area

  • Heart attack risk
  • Stroke risk

Studies of medications intended to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Specific studies open and close. The interest list is how you hear what is active now - and every study is explained fully before you decide anything.

The interest list, in plain English

A nurse reviews intake notes with a patient seated in a treatment room.

Personal Physician Care participates in clinical research studies in South Florida, and maintains an interest list of patients who want to hear about studies that may fit their health profile.

Joining the list means exactly one thing: when a study matches your profile, the research team contacts you with the details - what it involves, what it requires, what the risks are - and you decide. Every study has its own eligibility criteria, reviewed by the study team.

Whether you join, decline, or leave a study at any point, your care at PPC is exactly the same. Research is an option we make available, never an expectation.

Is this right for you?

Who this is not for

If you are looking for a guaranteed new treatment, research is not that - studies are how medicine learns what works, and many participants receive standard care or placebo.
If anyone - including us - ever makes you feel your regular care depends on joining a study, that is wrong. Tell us.

What joining looks like

A physician goes over a tablet with a patient seated in a treatment room.
1
Join the list
The form below takes a minute - your name, contact, and the health areas you would want to hear about.
2
When a study fits
Our research team contacts you with the study's details - purpose, time commitment, visits, risks, and any compensation the study itself provides. You ask anything.
3
You decide
Eligibility is always determined by the study team through a formal screening and consent process. Saying yes to hearing about a study never means saying yes to the study.

Research questions, answered

What does joining the research interest list commit me to?+
Nothing. It means our research team can contact you when a study fits your health profile. Every study decision comes later, with full information, formal screening, and your own consent - and you can leave the list or any study at any time.
What kinds of studies does PPC participate in?+
Research areas have included cardiovascular health, weight management, memory and brain health, and prevention research. Specific studies open and close over time - the interest list is how you hear what is currently active.
Will participating in a study affect my regular care at PPC?+
No. Your care is the same whether you join, decline, or withdraw from any study - at any point, for any reason.
Who decides if I am eligible for a study?+
The study team, through a formal screening process based on the study's own eligibility criteria. Joining the interest list does not screen you in or out of anything.
Are there risks or costs in a research study?+
Every study has its own risk profile, explained in detail before you consent to anything. Joining the interest list has no cost and no risk - it is simply a way to hear about opportunities. Study-specific questions like costs or compensation are answered by the study team, study by study.

For Sponsors & CROs

A physician-led research site inside a working primary care practice

Personal Physician Care conducts clinical research within an active primary care practice serving a large, established patient community across three South Florida offices (Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Hallandale Beach). Because research sits inside the practice, sponsors get something a standalone site cannot offer: direct access to a primary care population with complete medical records, on-site labs, and long-term physician relationships.

Patient community
A large, established patient community across three offices, with conditions and histories documented in one longitudinal record.
Research coordination
Dedicated research coordination led by Renee Jones, PharmD, CPh, CRC.
IRB experience
Studies conducted under central IRB oversight, including Advarra.
On-site infrastructure
Phlebotomy and lab processing, imaging, and exam facilities within the practice.
