FLORIDA'S NEW LAW ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, EFFECTIVE JULY 1st, 2018

Patients of Personal Physician Care

Due to recent changes in Florida law and in order to comply, please be advised that effective July 1st, 2018, refills for controlled substances can ONLY be done during an office visit with a provider.

Refills of controlled substances will not be given in any circumstance outside of an actual office visit. If you are unsure if you are on a medication classified as a controlled substance, please ask your provider.

If you are currently taking a controlled substance, please make sure you are aware of when your prescription will run out to ensure you have an office visit scheduled with your provider for a refill.

Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.

Personal Physician Care takes the inconvenience and uneasiness out of getting lab tests with our own friendly and experienced experts and phlebotomists at our same office location.  On-site labs are available and are open from 8:30am until 3:30pm, although we are closed from noon to 1:00pm for lunch.  Rest assured that Personal Physician Care will return your lab results quickly and securely by our own expertly-trained lab technicians.  At Personal Physician Care, you will get the results of your lab testing within seven to ten business days.

Please note that our phlebotomists can not only collect specimens, but they can also administer vaccines and injectable medicines with an appointment.

How Can I Get Lab Services At Personal Physician Care?

Feel free to talk to your health care provider if you’re interested in a specific lab test.  Our providers determine which tests to order based on your personalized visit, any medications you’re taking and your current health.

Will Insurance Cover My Lab Tests?

Every insurance plan is different and the details of your coverage depend on your specific policy.  While most lab tests are generally covered by insurance, you may want to contact your carrier before visiting our lab in order to ensure coverage.

If I’m New To Personal Physician Care, Should I Have Labs Done Prior To My First Visit?

No.  In order to make sure we do not waste your time and money, we would like to meet you first.  Your provider can then assess which tests are needed and write you the appropriate lab order.
