FLORIDA'S NEW LAW ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, EFFECTIVE JULY 1st, 2018

Patients of Personal Physician Care

Due to recent changes in Florida law and in order to comply, please be advised that effective July 1st, 2018, refills for controlled substances can ONLY be done during an office visit with a provider.

Refills of controlled substances will not be given in any circumstance outside of an actual office visit. If you are unsure if you are on a medication classified as a controlled substance, please ask your provider.

If you are currently taking a controlled substance, please make sure you are aware of when your prescription will run out to ensure you have an office visit scheduled with your provider for a refill.

Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.

Allergy Testing

Living in South Florida can be tough on everyone’s allergies and you are not alone if you suffer.  Allergies are very common, affecting an estimated 50 million Americans.  A wide array of allergens may trigger allergic reactions through the air, by touch, or ingestion.

Substances that can cause reactions include:
  • Pollen
  • Dust Mites
  • Mold Spores
  • Pet Dander
  • Food
  • Insect Stings

At Personal Physician Care, we have a highly trained allergy technician who is equipped with all the necessary supplies and knowledge for in-depth allergy testing.  We not only conduct in-office food allergy and environmental inhalant allergy testing, but we also provide comprehensive immunotherapy injections; all supervised by your own primary care physician.

Based on your allergy testing, a personalized treatment plan will be developed to help control your allergy symptoms.  In most cases, allergy testing is covered by your insurance.  But, prior to testing appointment, we will contact your insurance company and verify your coverage.  We will then contact you to explain your benefits and answer any questions you may have.
