Dr. Roy S. Cohen holds the distinction of being one of the few physicians in all of South Florida with expertise in the accurate diagnosis and successful treatment of fibromyalgia. Helping patients suffering from this life-altering affliction is extremely personal to him. His expertise arose out of necessity. Many years ago, one of his own staff members suffered from fibromyalgia but could not find a healthcare provider who was able to diagnosis or treat it. In an effort to help relieve this person’s suffering, he committed himself to learning everything he could on the topic.
He is also an officially authorized Designated Civil Surgeon by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a Designated Civil Surgeon, he is among the select few physicians in the country who are authorized to perform immigration medical examinations on behalf of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within the U.S.
His compassionate and amiable bedside manner have earned him a devoted following among his many patients. He has deservedly earned a reputation as one of the area’s most conscientious, caring, and knowledgeable physicians. His distinguished educational background includes earning his Medical Degree from the renowned Finch University of Health Sciences at the Chicago Medical School and completing his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital—University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals as well as spending time working with the United States Air Force.
